Arda was helpful and always at hand to answer any queries and keep me updated. I needed to slightly change a location and it was no problem at all. On the day, Barbara was there early and was really professional. We had to put a gazebo up as the proposal was outside and wanted to ensure Barbara was covered, getting involved in trying to fix it to the ground wasn’t too much for Barbara. Sadly, the weather decided to add character to the proposal and with the Gazebo refusing to stay on the floor, Barbara improvised and played beautifully from a golf buggy. What is included in your standard wedding package, and what are your rates?

Our rates are based on the actual performance time, starting from the first note we play. One hour usually includes 15–20 minutes of pre-ceremony music as guests arrive, followed by 40–45 minutes for the ceremony itself. Two hours can also cover part of the drinks reception. If you’d like music during the dinner or evening celebrations, you can book additional hours to suit your schedule. Rates start from £330 per hour, depending on the duration, location, and any special requests. All bookings include professional performance, setup, and one free song request.

What genres and types of music do you play?

Our violinists perform a wide range of music to suit every wedding. This includes classical favourites like Pachelbel’s Canon and Bach’s Air on the G String, modern pop hits by Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Adele, and Lady Gaga, film and TV themes from Bridgerton, Titanic, and Harry Potter, as well as the largest Bollywood wedding repertoire in the UK. Do you offer other string ensembles such as a duo, trio, or quartet?

Yes, we do! You have the option to choose from one of Kara Strings’ amazing string ensembles, including violin and cello duos, string trios, and quartets.

Do you provide your own amplification and equipment?

Yes, we bring all necessary equipment, including instruments, music stands, and a portable PA system if requested (PA system is available for an additional fee). A solo violin is usually loud enough for 50–60 guests at a small to medium-sized venue. For larger venues or bigger crowds, we recommend using a PA system to ensure everyone can enjoy the music clearly.

What space and venue requirements do you need for a solo violinist?

For a solo violinist, we typically need about 2 metres of clear space to perform comfortably. This allows enough room for the instrument, music stand, and movement. If your venue has any specific limitations—such as narrow entrances, low ceilings, or restricted areas—please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

Can you perform at outdoor weddings?

Yes, our violinists can perform outdoors, but we require a covered area such as a marquee, gazebo, or sheltered terrace to protect our instruments from sun, rain, or wind. If the weather is too hot or too cold, please have a plan B in place to ensure we can perform comfortably.

What do you wear at weddings?

We typically wear long coloured dinner dresses, which look elegant and stylish for most weddings. For classic or traditional ceremonies, we can wear all black formal attire. We can also adapt our outfits to match the theme or colour scheme of your wedding—just let us know your preferences when booking.

How do I pay for my booking?

We offer flexible and secure payment options. A 25% deposit is required to confirm your booking, which can be paid via bank transfer or credit/debit card. For online card payments, we use RyftPay for added security. If you choose to pay by credit card, a 2% transaction fee applies. We accept all major cards, including American Express. The remaining balance is due three weeks before the event. For last-minute bookings (less than three weeks before the wedding), the full payment is required upfront.
